As an educator:I can’t imagine doing another job! I love the classroom.
It is so amazing to watch and help youth accomplish their academic and personal goals.
This is my third year teaching in the Alternate Program at PHSS. Prior to this assignment I worked on the Tsulquate Reserve for 10 years at Eke Me-Xi Alternate School; a PHSS satellite program that I was instrumental in developing. This year at PHSS I am also supervising a group of students through our newly created Distance Learning School–this means students take a course with me electronically.
As a learner:I love reading.
I am currently enrolled at Vancouver Island University in the Teaching Leadership Certificate Program. This year long program fits my learning style because it is flexible(we meet on campus 5 times per year, we do our coursework distance ed. and submit assignments electronically) and manageable( I can balance work, family and school quite easily).
